Dr. Carmen Carpenter is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine DTCM who graduated Valedictorian from Pacific Rim College in Victoria BC. She became interested in alternative health while studying anthropology at the University of Calgary and is now registered as a DTCM with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of BC.
Carmen has always had an interest in medicine from a young age, and has found a way to make it a part of her life. Through a family friend she discovered TCM and its many modalities of treatment including Acupuncture and Cupping Therapy. Carmen discovered TCM was a powerful way to work with individuals through a holistic and integrative framework of treatment. Carmen helps individuals navigate a multitude of complex issues. She brings a holistic mindset into every client treatment, meeting the client where they are in life. Using modalities such as Acupuncture, Gua Sha, Cupping, and diet therapy, she creates customized treatments for ailments such as anxiety, menstrual irregularities, digestion, and pain management (just to name a few).
When not in the clinic, you can often find Carmen either exploring Vancouver Island or at a beach with one of the many dogs in her life.
