Massage for Seniors – Gait, Mobility and Multi Setting Practice

Roxanne teaches practical solutions for supporting clients in maintaining function, independence, and quality of life for as long as possible. Aged care spans many environments, including clinical practice, mobile treatment, and home or residential care, and this training provides treatment strategies that apply across all of these settings.

Massage can be an important source of therapeutic touch for many seniors. In many cases, adult children are also involved in initiating care for their aging parents, seeking safe and practical treatment options to support comfort, mobility, and daily function.

Drawing from extensive experience working with older populations across clinical, institutional, and home based environments, Roxanne provides strategies that help RMTs become more adaptable and effective in real world practice. The focus is on assessment and treatment approaches that respond to varying levels of mobility, function, and environmental constraints.

The course also covers gait, balance, and mobility support, including how to safely work with and coach clients in the use of assistive devices such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs, along with other adaptive tools that improve safety, comfort, movement, and functional independence in daily life.

Massage Therapy is highly effective for providing pain and discomfort relief but there is much more we can provide as you will learn in this course.
