Effleurage for the Back
This instructional training video teaches the foundational effleurage technique for back massage. Effleurage consists of smooth, flowing strokes designed to warm the tissues, promote relaxation, and support healthy circulation and lymphatic flow.
The lesson demonstrates proper client draping, product selection considerations between oils and lotions, correct hand positioning, body mechanics, and pressure application. Emphasis is placed on maintaining continuous hand contact, directing strokes toward the heart and key lymphatic drainage areas, and using lighter pressure during the return stroke.
The training also explores how stroke speed influences therapeutic outcomes, with slower movements encouraging relaxation and faster rhythms providing a more stimulating effect. This course segment helps practitioners develop professional touch, fluid technique, and greater confidence in delivering effective therapeutic massage treatments.
